How it is built

Everything is silhouette. No faces, no line art — the two fighters are flat black figures separated only by the colour of the light they carry, blue against red, standing on a skyline of unlit windows under a flat grey moon. The city never becomes a background detail: it is the only thing that shows scale when the techniques go off.

Captions do the naming. Each technique appears as one line of italic text at the foot of the frame as it lands, so the animation stays readable without sound and without a narrator.

The beats

  1. Title card. Shibuya, October 31. Blue and red set against each other before either figure appears.
  2. The standoff. Two lit figures at opposite ends of the skyline, beams raking the city between them.
  3. Techniques. Cursed technique exchanges, called out one line at a time — the blue and red spheres, then Maximum Technique: Hollow Purple.
  4. Domain Expansion. The frame splits down a white seam: Unlimited Void as a field of stars on the left, Malevolent Shrine as a red gate on the right, opened simultaneously.
  5. After. Back to the skyline, both still standing, the light dimmed on each. Nothing is resolved.

Unlimited Void

A pale sphere of stars on deep blue. Drawn as emptiness with depth rather than as an effect — the only frame in the piece with no city in it.

Domain · right

Malevolent Shrine

A red gate silhouette on burnt dark ground, built from three heavy strokes. No structure, no detail — just the shape, at scale.
